Even on a surface level, theres a lot to like in Serial Experiments Lain. Serial Experiments Lain -alternative op- Serial Experiments Lain (anime) opening song 'Duvet' by Bôa The Incubus Mark - Ergo Proxy (anime) a flat chest is fine, too. These anime include Elfen Lied, JoJo, Kakegurui: Compulsive Gambler, Death Parade, Future Diary, Yuri!!! on Ice, and many more. There has been plenty of amazing anime openings that aren’t going to make the list. The song goes great with the opening and they did a great job on that as well.
Bôa, the singer, did a great job in this track and really captured this depressing yet hopeful sound in the song. Some anime have multiple opening themes throughout their shows but this list will only include one entry per series. Serial Experiments Lain’s opening song most certainly is my favorite out of this list. The only other anime his work has appeared in is Akagi (2006), of which he wrote the opening song, Nantoka Nare (performed by Fluid, his first band). He also wrote and performed the ending song, Tooi Sakebi.
